Last week's meeting involved some early planning for the Hunger Banquet which SID will be holding in March. More information will be forthcoming on the Hunger Banquet.
Another discussion topic for Thursday's meeting was the Social Venture Competition which provides up to $50,000 dollars for projects that help meet social needs.
Additionally, this week's university forum will feature the Kennedy Center's book of the semester, Three Cups of Tea. The book's coauthor Greg Mortenson has had a tremendous amount of success building schools for students in rural Afghanistan and Pakistan. We encourage students to attend. Here is a podcast of the Kennedy Center's faculty discussion of the book.
